Exploring solvent power gum turpentine in relation to waste styrofoam, developed a technology to produce solutions of polystyrene waste in gum turpentine almost any concentration up to 50%. In the laboratory, obtained solutions with a concentration of 25%, 30%, 40% and 50%. Preparation of solutions in organic solvents, polystyrene is due to a decrease in its multiple source volume and an increase in volume of the solution compared with the solvent. Preparation of solutions styrofoam is a convenient way of compacting it, this waste is occupied by low-density (25 kg/m3) significant amount in the environment. On our technology to increase the volume of the solution by one unit is required to dissolve the many dozens of units of the volume of polystyrene foam. The developed technology for recycling Styrofoam from its waste allows allows you to translate it into a solution, then, for example, to produce the modern low-toxic binders for the production of molding and core sand mixtures, as well as coating of molds, which gives an opportunity to improve and develop new, more efficient and economical process of casting metals.
